Get stuff for free! And give a little something (or even a big something) back! | NEED to clear up some space, but loathed to take surplus items to the tip ? Then join the Freecycle community at www.freecycle.org. You might even find some useful stuff you need for free too.
The network is facilitated and mediated by volunteers, and is entirely non-profit. You can join one of the groups ascribed to your geographical area, and find out what's being given away, and offload some of your stuff too. There is nothing wrong with what's been given away - it's usually just become obsolete.
The Freecycle Network was started in May 2003 to promote waste reduction in downtown Tuscon, and help save desert landscape from being taken over by landfills. The Network basically provides individuals and non-profits an electronic forum to recycle unwanted items. "One person's trash can truly be another's treasure!" they claim.
