Pupils at a Haverfordwest school have been given advice on how to keep their mobile phones safe by the Neighbourhood Policing Team.
PCSO David Henry carried out a special mobile phone surgery at Sir Thomas Picton School.
Young people were able to bring their phones to be marked with indelible ink. Posters have also been distributed throughout the school.
They were also given information on how to keep them safe, and what is appropriate to send via text or multimedia messages.
PCSO Henry said: "Mobile phones are always a desired item amongst thieves, and unfortunately young people can become the target.
"It is also important that youngsters realise that the camera facility can be good fun but care must be observed as any images taken may upset or cause offence to the person whose picture it is.
"The distribution of these pictures could be considered malicious communications and therefore not allowed.
"By talking to them about mobile phone safety, hopefully that will keep them safer."
Further surgeries have been arranged at the school.
